Face In Space

5 comments:

  1. I found out about NASA's Face In Space program back in June of 2010 . . . and I submitted my Bennie's face and name for both of the final shuttle launches . . . at that time, the shuttle Discovery was scheduled for lift-off on the 16th of September . . . after multiple delays, STS-133 finally launched this afternoon . . . as Discovery left the face of this earth, one of the commentators said . . . Discovery now making one last reach for the stars . . .

  2. I went back through the process of registering Bennie again today just so that I could take photos of the process on my computer screen . . . hence the photo you see above . . . which was taken today . . .

  3. What a neat opportunity, Vickie...to be a part of a special day and time in history...this photo of Bennie...is perfect!

I missed the launch of the STS-133...wish I could have seen it.

  4. I have the NASA channel with my satellite package . . . at the top of every hour, while the astronauts sleep, they are replaying the launch . . . I've watched it several times now . . .

  5. FYI . . . for all you NASA fans . . . there were about 120 of us in our graduating class from Rockdale High School back in 1970 . . . one of the members of the 1968 graduating class was a guy by the name of Ken Cockrell . . . in April of 1993, that same Ken was one of the astronauts on board the shuttle Discovery for the STS-56 mission . . .
